Our Songs of Ascent

Open the Gates with Praise” by Meghan Williams of Dyed4you Art

For many years, I was always curious when I came across the Psalms known as the “Songs of Ascent” (Psalms 120-134). I wondered what this special title meant and the story that sets these psalms apart. Over time, I discovered that these psalms are known as the Pilgrim Songs. Some scholars believe they were sung by worshippers as they ascended the road to Jerusalem to attend the three pilgrim feasts (Deuteronomy 16:16). Others believe that the songs were sung by Levitical priests as they ascended the steps of the Temple in Jerusalem. Another theory suggests they were written after the rebuilding of the Second Temple. Finally, there are scholars who think these songs were individual poems that were collected and given a title that would connect them to the Jewish pilgrimage after the Babylonian captivity. Joyful Tears

Harvest Joy” by Meghan Williams of Dyed4you Art

Psalm 126:5 (NIV) Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.

You have sown many tears over the years and too often you can’t see if it’s harvest will actually come, but know and trust that Papa is working even when we can’t see it. The waiting time that comes after planting the seed and having to water it and having no control over the weather conditions and how they will affect the crops while they grow is not in our control. That is however, the most important time. That’s when our faith and trust in the Father grows. Continue reading “Joyful Tears”

The Place of Preparation

Seek the Light” by Meghan Williams of Dyed4you Art

We may not always expect our place of preparation to be a pit as it was for Joseph (starting in Genesis 37), but such was certainly the case for me in my walk. Something my son Jonathan said to me some time ago comes to my mind a lot. When I spoke of how God seemed to use me more than I would have expected when I was in the pit, Jonathan’s reply was,“To you, it was a pit, but to God it was a place of preparation.” Continue reading “The Place of Preparation”

Just Be

“Selah (Divine Interlude)” by Meghan Williams, Dyed4you Art

Just be, beloved. There is a time and season for all things—time to learn, to do, and to explore in life. However, in every moment, no matter what activity it contains, I call you to simply be. Breathe, live, and move in Me, beloved. Pause to recognize how My Spirit fills you and gives life and purpose. Continue reading “Just Be”

Our Lion Shepherd

Peaceable Kingdom by Meghan Williams of Dyed4you Art piece

Our Lion Shepherd looks after the sheep. The Father takes care of each one. He is gentle with us, but in an instant, our fierce Lion Shepherd can come out and roar over any who threaten His sheep.

He is protective of His flock with His eyes ever watchful. He guides us along the path of life. And as the path gets hard, He never leaves us. He gives true rest by the refreshing of His stream, nourishing our parched areas. He gives out daily blessings. May we always be grateful for His grace and kindness. He is a true shepherd tending His sheep. Continue reading “Our Lion Shepherd”

Tend Your Light

Your light, Father, it calls to us – like a lighthouse on a bank surrounded by a body of water. It may be the very dark of night and the storm may be raging around us, but the beacon of hope is shining out. It is guiding us back to safety, back to the wonderful warm glow of light that floods – out piercing any darkness. The light is brighter in the darkness, and the darkness cannot shut it out.  Continue reading “Tend Your Light”

Journey of Destiny

God of Compassion (El Rachum) by Meghan Williams of Dyed4you Art

Exodus 40:36(VOICE) Through all their wanderings in the desert, whenever the cloud lifted up from the congregation tent, the Israelites would break camp and set out.

Psalm 56:8(TPT) You’ve kept track of all my wandering and my weeping. You’ve stored my many tears in your bottle—not one will be lost. For they are all recorded in your book of remembrance.

There are times when things may hit us unexpectedly. Something may come out of the blue–throwing us off completely. We may immediately begin to search inwardly thinking we have done something wrong in order for THIS to happen. Unexpected life changes can have a way of feeling like a hard blow to the gut– leaving us feeling like the wind is knocked out of us. Even in THIS, Papa reminds us He is NEVER caught off-guard and He IS with us. Continue reading “Journey of Destiny”

Recreated by His Word

“Grace Full Transformation” by Meghan Williams, Dyed4you art

Psalm 33:6, 9 (NKJV) By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. … For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

To read the first chapter of the book of Genesis, I never cease to be in awe of how God brought about creation through the breath of His mouth. What He spoke came forth into existence just as He envisioned. And what began in chaos and void, was shaped and filled into a thing of beauty. Creation is God’s canvas and the very the manifestation of His thoughts. But have you ever considered how creation is still responding to God’s words? Even more, have you ever considered how you and I are being created—or recreated—by the words that God speaks? Continue reading “Recreated by His Word”

I Am With You

“Bezel El (Shadow of God)” by Meghan Williams, Dyed4you Art

Be watchful, beloved. Take a look at what’s around you. Notice the things that I have placed within your gaze.  For they are as road signs and as a map to you. You may think it strange that I can speak through your environment or circumstances as much as I speak through My Word. However, I desire that you would come to a greater awareness of Who I Am and come to see My continual presence and power in your life. I would have you see what it means to abide in Me and I in you. For through My Spirit, which is in you, I am able to quicken your attention to the mundane and give you wisdom and insight moment by moment. Continue reading “I Am With You”

Choose to Be on My Side

Psalm 136:12-13 (VOICE) With fierce strength, a mighty hand, and an outstretched arm, for His faithful love lasts forever. To Him who split the Red Sea in two and made a path between the divided waters, for His faithful love lasts forever.

Beloved, for those who choose to be on My side, My faithfulness knows no bounds. So choose Me, and align with Me, and watch My steadfast love manifest. Listen for My voice – whether thunderous or whispered, and be yielding and obey.

I AM the rock of strength for you to lean on, your firm foundation – the unchangeable One. Choose Me. And be steadfast in your choice. I AM the eternal One – the giver of life, embrace Me.

John 6:68 (AMP) Simon Peter answered, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You [alone] have the words of eternal life [you are our only hope].
