Liberty in Christ (Colossians 3:1-3)

So it comes down to this: since you have been raised with the Anointed One, the Liberating King, set your mind on heaven above. The Anointed is there, seated at God’s right hand. Stay focused on what’s above, not on earthly things, because your old life is dead and gone. Your new life is now hidden, enmeshed with the Anointed who is in God.

The first Prophetic Nugget is called “Made New.”

Colossians 3:1 (VOICE) So it comes down to this: since you have been raised with the Anointed One, the Liberating King, set your mind on heaven above. The Anointed is there, seated at God’s right hand. 

Beloved, in Christ you are made new – that means completely changed. Embrace your new self wholeheartedly. Extend the same grace to yourself that has been extended to you. Forgive yourself for choices that could have been made better, and decisions that should have been made differently. Remember that you are different now – new in Christ.

Operate from an expectation of good. Refuse to expect yourself to fall at the same hurdles you have before. For you are not alone – I AM with you. I strengthen you and uphold you. You’ve chosen the winning side. And though life will never be without its challenges, there is nothing that will overtake you as you walk hand in hand with Me.

The second Prophetic Nugget is called “Dedicated Desire.”

Colossians 3:2 (VOICE) Stay focused on what’s above, not on earthly things, 

Beloved, be mindful of your focus, for that which you focus on, you make room for. So make room for Me, and for the things of heaven. Refuse to be distracted by the troubles of this world or the counterfeits that would come to steal your gaze.

Refuse to settle for anything less than a full-fledged, wholehearted relationship with Me. Refuse to stop your pursuit of the One who made you, who redeemed you, and who has healed you. For I AM worthy of the pursuit. And just as I have held nothing back in My pursuit of you, so you should reflect that same passion back in your dedicated desire to know Me.

The third Prophetic Nugget is called “Live Unashamed.”

Colossians 3:3 (VOICE) because your old life is dead and gone. Your new life is now hidden, enmeshed with the Anointed who is in God.

Beloved, resist the urge to waste time looking back. Your time is better spent with your whole heart focused unwaveringly on the things above – the things of heaven and on Me. As you fill your eyes with the things of Me, there is no room for fear and unrighteousness to sneak in. So keep your heart steady and stay fixed on Me.

Remember, beloved, you are now able to live unashamed. For no dirt can mar what the blood of Jesus has made clean. So embrace your freedom from that which sought to hold you down, and instead walk in the fullness of your Liberating King.
