The name of your silk is YHVH Nissi (The LORD My Banner). The colors in it are:
- Kelly green representing life
- White representing victory
- Indigo representing kingdom authority
- Cobalt Blue representing standing on the Word of God
The scriptures that go with this silk are:
- Exodus 17:9-15 (ESV) So Moses said to Joshua, “Chose for us men, and go out and fight… Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.” So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought…while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the sword… And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord Is My Banner.
- Psalms 60:4 (NLT) But you have raised a banner for those who fear you– a rallying point in the face of attack.
- Isaiah 59:19 (KJV) When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
In biblical times, a “standard” or a “banner” is what was held up and went before the army. It represented who the army fought for, who they represented, or by whose authority they fought.
{vision} a banner that is planted in the ground and extends up to the sky. Our banner is the Lord of lords, who holds heaven and earth together. That is how the colors of this silk come together: Our lives, plus standing in the Word of God, equals victory.
A Prophetic Nugget from “Daily Downloads from Heaven” by Meghan Williams is connected to this. It’s called “YHVH Nissi (the Lord your Banner).”
Psalm 108:13 (VOICE) Only through God can we be successful…
Beloved, I AM the source of true victory, and in Me you find true strength. For I AM the one who lifts men up and brings accomplishment. All honor and glory comes from Me. So rest in My judgment, and trust the blessing from My hand.
Cling fast to Me, refusing to allow the praise or criticism of men sway you. For I AM the triumphant call, the Lord your banner – YHVH Nissi, your victory, your miracle. Trust your life and all its successes and perceived failures to Me.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12 (VOICE) All that is great and powerful and glorious and victorious and majestic is Yours, O Eternal One. Indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth belongs to You. The kingdom belongs to You, O Eternal One, and You are the head of it all. Wealth and glory come from You, and You rule over them all. In Your hand is power and strength, and You use them to make great and strengthen everyone.
A song called “Jehovah Nissi” by Dennis Jernigan is connected to this. The lyrics are as follows:
Lift up the standard, No matter what the cost, Exalt the name of Jesus And the banner of the cross
We have a firm foundation, A Rock, the Cornerstone Exalt the King of Glory, who reigns upon His throne.Jehovah Nissi reign in victory, Jehovah Nissi reign in victory,
Jehovah Nissi reign in victory, Jehovah Nissi reign in victory
Jehovah Nissi, Je-ho-vah Nissi, Jehovah Nissi reign in victory, Yes
Jehovah Nissi reign in victory, YesNo weapon formed Against us
No fortresses too high Can stand against The host of God Amidst the battle cry
So lift the banner higher And raise a joyful sound And glorify the King
As Satan’s walls Come tumbling down
In Hebrew, Jehovah (YHVH) Nissi means the Lord our banner. Nissi also means miracle. Yeshua (Jesus) literally became our banner as He hung on the cross. In the spiritual realm, when we refer to YHVH Nissi (the Lord our banner) as being our banner, this represents the Father (through our Messiah) supporting and stretching out His hand to lift you up and carry you. In His infinite wisdom, He has provided as well, people that can carry you through the hardships and the difficulties of life.
A portion of a post from Meghan Williams from our Dyed4you blog is connected to this. It’s called “Why We Flag.”
Flags take on many shapes and forms, some are huge and some are small, but ultimately the action of lifting a flag (or standard / banner) has meaning. Below we’ve shared just a few of the things communicated through this type of expressive worship.
Overview
- A sign of victory (Exodus 17:15)
- A method of communication (Psalm 74:4)
- Praise to God and affirmation of His goodness (Psalm 20:5)
- A sign of our fear of the Lord and His protection over us (Psalm 60:4)
- A point to draw the focus back to God (Isaiah 18:3)
- A declaration of love (Song of Solomon 2:4)
- A sign it’s time to take action (Isaiah 13:2)
- A unifying force (Isaiah 11:12)
- A beckoning into and welcoming of the presence of the Lord (Isaiah 62:10)
- A sign the enemy needs to flee (Isaiah 30:17)
- A rally point for the warriors for battle (Jeremiah 51:27)
- A symbol of might (Song of Solomon 6:4)
- To bring life (Numbers 21:8, Isaiah 11:10, John 10:10)
What Flagging Can Mean
One of the Hebrew names for God is YHVH Nissi, which means the Lord my Banner. This comes from Exodus 17:15 (AMP) “And Moses built an altar and named it The Lord Is My Banner.” This word “nissi” also means miracle. So God is our banner – our declaration of victory – our miracle, our breakthrough. This declaration of victory is one of the reasons the banner bearers lead the armies, they were declaring victory before the battle even began.
In the same way people might wave their hand to someone in greeting instead of saying “hello,” flags are a method of communication – both in the physical realm and the spiritual one – without saying a word. Psalm 74:4 (JUB) “Thine enemies have roared in the midst of thy assemblies; they set up their own banners for signs.”
You can also use flags as a method of praise – just rejoicing in the goodness of our God. Psalm 20:5 (NIV) “We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.”
Flags can signify a fear of the Lord as well as our acknowledgement of His protection over us. Psalm 60:4 (AMP) “You have set up a banner for those who fear You [with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder—a banner to shield them from attack], A banner that may be displayed because of the truth. Selah”
Flags can be used as a focal point to rally around a common focus, as a reminder to focus on God. Isaiah 18:3 (NIV) “All you people of the world, you who live on the earth, when a banner is raised on the mountains, you will see it, and when a trumpet sounds, you will hear it.”
Flags can be a declaration of love for God and His love for us. Song of Solomon 2:4 (VOICE) “He placed me at his banquet table, for everyone to see that his banner over me declares his love.”
Flags can be used as a sign it is time to take action. In a battle, the banners were a method of communicating in this way. Isaiah 13:2 (AMPC) “Raise up a signal banner upon the high and bare mountain, summon them [the Medes and Persians] with loud voice and beckoning hand that they may enter the gates of the [Babylonian] nobles.”
Flags act as a unifying force. They symbolically gather His sheep – a symbol of unity (like a nation’s flag). Isaiah 11:12 (GW) “He will raise a banner for the nations to gather around. He will gather the outcasts of Israel and bring together the scattered people of Judah from the four corners of the earth.”
Flags beckon others into the presence of the Lord (and welcome His presence with you). Isaiah 62:10 (AMP) “Go through, go through the gates, Clear the way for the people; Build up, build up the highway, Remove the stones, lift up a banner over the peoples.”
Flags are a sign the enemy needs to flee. Isaiah 30:17 (AMP) “A thousand of you will flee at the threat of one man; You will flee at the threat of five, Until you are left like a flag on the top of a mountain, And like a signal on a hill.”
Flags rally the warriors for battle. Jeremiah 51:27 (GW) “Raise your battle flag throughout the world. Blow the ram’s horn among the nations. Prepare nations to attack…”
Flags act as a symbol of might. We are strong because we are under the banner of our God and He is always victorious! Song of Solomon 6:4 (AMP) “You are as beautiful as Tirzah, my darling, As lovely as Jerusalem, As majestic as an army with banners!”
In the same way Moses lifted the serpent as a banner to bring life (Numbers 21:8), so Christ was raised as a banner for us to have life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). Isaiah 11:10 (JUB) “And it shall be in that day that the Root of Jesse, who shall be lifted up as a banner, as an example to the Gentiles shall be sought by the Gentiles; and his Kingdom of peace shall be glorious.”
In Conclusion
These are just a few of the reasons we use flags. When we take into account that in addition to the meanings our actions of using a flag have, the colors have meaning as well (as does the prophetic meanings behind each flag), there are layers upon layers of meaning in this type of expressive worship – and all of it is making declaration in the spiritual realm. This is an offering of praise before our King. It costs us something to give it – whether that is our pride (because it can be embarrassing or feel silly to do it) or simply our energy (because He is worth the effort) regardless of the cost, it is an offering lovingly poured out to the One who is worthy.
Another Prophetic Nugget from “Daily Downloads from Heaven” by Meghan Williams is connected to this. It’s called “I AM the Waymaker.”
Isaiah 43:16 (TLB) I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a path right through the sea.
Beloved, I AM the Waymaker. You need not be concerned as to how or why, just know I AM. In times of trouble, look to Me. As you do – as your faith and trust in Me is made evident in your actions and your praise – I AM lifted up. Like a standard of victory before a contending army, I AM YHVH Nissi. I AM the Lord your banner. Who can stand against Me?
I AM the Lord of the breakthrough and the restorer of your souls. I jealously guard you and love you beyond your wildest imaginings. I AM good. Refuse to be discouraged. Refuse to be impressed with the attacks that the enemy launches, refuse him the praise of acknowledgment and fix your eyes on Me, the author and finisher of your faith. Behold, I’m doing a new thing, watch as I bring the breakthrough.
Isaiah 43:16-19 (VOICE) This is what the Eternal One says, the One who does the impossible, the One who makes a path through the sea, a smooth road through tumultuous waters…Don’t revel only in the past, or spend all your time recounting the victories of days gone by. Watch closely: I am preparing something new; it’s happening now, even as I speak, and you’re about to see it. I am preparing a way through the desert; Waters will flow where there had been none.
A final Prophetic Nugget from “Daily Downloads from Heaven” by Meghan Williams is connected to this. It’s called “YHVH Nissi (the Lord my Banner).”
Exodus 17:15 (NLT) Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh-Nissi (which means “the Lord is my banner”).
Beloved, I AM your banner, your miracle, your declaration of victory. Lift Me high. Exalt Me and lift your hands in holy reverence for I AM worthy of your praise. I AM a sign and a symbol to any who would look that you have been set free. You have overcome.
In honor of Me, lift your hands. In honor of Me, raise high your symbol of victory. Your unabashed faith in who I AM and willingness to hold nothing back are powerful messages in the spiritual realm. You declare Me faithful – your very actions announcing to any with ears to hear that I AM God and I AM worthy of your devotion. Praise Me for I AM good.
Your silk has been prayed over and anointed with The Scent of Heaven’s Victory oil, which is used as a reminder that our victory is in Him. The scriptures that go with this oil are:
- 1 Corinthians 15:57 – “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
- 1 John 5:4 – “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.”
Indeed you are able to do “all things through Christ who strengthens you.” God gives you the authority to fight and win the battle you face.
We pray it blesses you!
NOTE: If you’re wondering why I’ve shared this silk letter, I explain on my personal blog in a post called God Speaking Through Silk why I began sharing these on my personal blog. Later, I felt led to share some on the Dyed4you Ministries blog as well. So I share some here and some there (you can find the ones there in the silk words category).
