Beauty in Motion

Today a customer and friend shared a picture of a boo-boo on her silk that happened as she was warring with them. I responded that one of the things I appreciated about silk is that you can’t see their flaws when they’re in motion, and laughingly added that there was probably a whole message in that. But as I pondered that, I realized it really was true. Continue reading “Beauty in Motion”

Gelah Raz (Revealer of Mysteries)

I shared a version this on my personal blog several years back, but this is worth revisiting. Sometimes people wonder “why” I’ve chosen various colors or oils for their scarf (or art), or why one scarf letter is less than half a page and another is three pages. The only way I can answer that is by talking about the nature of God and how He wants to use this ministry.

The purpose of Dyed4you Ministries is to facilitate encounters with the living God. Continue reading “Gelah Raz (Revealer of Mysteries)”

What is a Prophetic Word?

This was something I shared on both the Dyed4you and Dyed4you Art blogs, but felt it was worth sharing here as well.  Last week I also re-shared How-To Receive a Prophetic Word, and on our sites we talk about the letters (prophetic words) that come with our silk and art and the fact that they are supposed to be a portion of a conversation with God, not an entire conversation in and of themselves. These prophetic pieces are intended to facilitate conversation with God, add a dimension to interactions that are hopefully already occurring, or begin conversation if none is. Ultimately, relationship with Him is what we all should be working on and trying to strength and deepen.  Continue reading “What is a Prophetic Word?”

How-To Receive a Prophetic Word

Having been in prophetic ministry for over a decade, this is a topic I am passionate about.  One of the things I’ve noticed over the years is that as charismatics we share many words from God; however, we give very little context for what to DO with those words.

Some believers – often ones new to the gifts of the Spirit, but even some who aren’t – end up hurt (and even angry at God) because they got a “word” that didn’t come to pass, or they tried to make happen, etc. Most of the time, they didn’t know how to properly receive a prophetic word. Without that context, they were ripe for getting hurt, which can often lead to people feeling like God let them down (even falling away), instead of realizing their leaders have simply failed to teach them vital information. Fragrant Offering

Luke 7:36 -38 (NKJV) Then one of the Pharisees (Simon) asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat. And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.

Mark 14:4-6, 9 (NKJV) [emphasis added] But there were some (His disciples [Matthew 26:7], Judas Iscariot Simon’s son [John 12:4], and the Pharisee who had invited Him [Luke 7:39]) who were indignant among themselves, and said, “Why was this fragrant oil wasted? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they criticized her sharply. But Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me…Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.

It is first interesting to note and understand the significance of where Mary was on her journey to where Jesus was. I believe it to be significant to the journey your heart has taken. Simon’s name means “listening, to be heard, reputation. His home was in Bethany (which means “house of dates” or “house of misery“) and Bethany was right at the Mount of Olives. The Mount of Olives was and still is one of the most well-known Jewish cemeteries in Israel. Bethany was next to the road that led from Jericho (means “Place of Fragrance“) to Jerusalem (means “foundation/possession of peace“…a place of completeness and wholeness).
