Beloved, when I open the door into a new day and new season in your life, know with certainty that I have prepared you and empowered you for all that is ahead. You’ve taken many steps to get to where you are today, and you have learned many lessons along the way. Trust Me, for I am a good Father and Teacher; I always equip you to succeed wherever I call you to go. Continue reading “A Heart for Adventure”
Recently, God has been taking me through a season to further cultivate a “listening heart.” I was impacted by the journey of my young friend, Stephen, who is just setting out on the road to law school. His mother told me of the mediation class he took that set him off on this journey. Continue reading “A Listening Heart”
1 Kings 19:4-5 (VOICE) He journeyed into the desert for one day and then decided to rest beneath the limbs of a broom tree. There he prayed that his life would be over quickly and that he would die there beneath the tree. Elijah: I’m finished, Eternal One. Please end my life here and now , even though I have failed, and I am no better than my ancestors. Elijah then laid himself down under the broom tree and entered into a deep sleep. While he was sleeping, a heavenly messenger came and touched him and gave him instructions. Messenger: Get up, and eat.
Sometimes life and circumstances can feel so overwhelming. There are times we are so frustrated that there aren’t words to really express how we feel; we might even get a little dramatic – like Elijah. The beautiful thing is, Elijah wasn’t in some prayer closet on his knees praying “like he should.” He wasn’t moved to speak to God out of religious routine, it was out of relationship – he was just having a conversation out loud with God. Beloved, just as an eagle can see with amazing visual acuity, so My seers are able to do so with their spiritual eyes. They are able to rightly divide the holy from the profane, right from wrong, and they see underlying motivations that might be hidden from others. Continue reading “True Power and Vision”

There is a bridal gown – white and beautiful, covered in glittery jewels making it shine bright. And as I stand looking at it, I am struck with the thought, “how can I possibly wear this?” I feel so unworthy. I feel the weight of shame from my past – innocence lost, mistakes made. The loud voices saying “You are not enough.” Continue reading “Radiant Bride”
I am startled out of a deep slumber by the sound of banging. At first I am afraid but then curiosity gets the best of me. I get out of bed and notice the whole house is so lifeless, old and dark. The only light is from the moon as it shines through the windows. There is little light to guide me as I make my way toward the sound that awoke me. I can see well enough to make out an open door at the end of the hall. As I approach the door I realize that’s where the banging is coming from. The room is completely empty. As I enter the room I can see a figure banging on the wall with bare hands like they are trying to break through. Continue reading “Complete Surrender”
