Trusting the Lord in the Process: Walk by Faith, Not By Sight

Walk of Faith” by Meghan Williams, Dyed4you Art

When painting silk, sometimes I am led to pick up the brush and start painting without the slightest idea of what will be manifested. The colors are shown one at a time. Brushstrokes are shown one at a time. I dip the brush into the dye, and I just paint in the flow that I’m being led, still not knowing, still not having the slightest idea what the end result will be.

In those times, I find myself painting by faith and not by sight. I place my complete trust in the Lord, knowing He will guide me in the right direction, even if I can’t see or envision what He has planned. I strive to stay focused on Him, listen to His voice, and follow His lead—trusting Him.

In this life, we will have many moments such as this. We may not know what the Lord is doing, what He has planned, or where He is taking us. But when we put our trust in Him completely and do as He leads us step by step, even when it does not make sense or simply goes against what we are used to doing…

When we remain steady in Him…

When we stay focused on Him…

When we follow His guidance and instructions…

When we walk by faith and not by sight…

The end results are always beautiful and are always good!

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV) “…we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Proverbs 3:5 (ESV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

He is saying: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV).
